Knowledge of basic topics of both Christian peace ethics and moral-theological methodological reflection.
This seminar for doctoral students consists of three major content units. The first unit focuses on the development of Christian peace ethics and the methods of theologians who have been instrumental in this development. The second unit is directly devoted to the question of methodology: What methods should theological ethicists use to do moral theology today? What approaches and methods have been developed in recent years? The third unit of the seminar will be an international meeting with doctoral and post-doctoral students from the faculties in Eichstätt and Passau. In this joint session the seminar will again focus on questions of methodology; some students may present their own topics. The doctoral seminar takes place in blocks over three weekends (each time Fri/Sat).
UPDATE: Instead of two full day meetings we will have three Saturdays in Innsbruck. The joint seminar will be held as mentioned. For a better discussion we will always combine readings form peace ethics and fundamental moral theology.
