The course's goal is to convey the basics of scientific work, especially with regard to writing a paper or thesis in the realm of European law. In addition, the scientific methods are practised on the basis of current ECJ case law.

Basics of (legal) academic writing: finding topics, organisation, research, literature and case law, citation, outline, structure of academic papers, case work.

Grades will be awarded on the basis of a written paper and a short presentation on a previously selected case of the ECJ.

Will be discussed during the first lecture.
