This module aims at expanding the study programme and at acquiring additional qualifications in the field of interdisciplinary media and communication research.

The lecture series includes in-depth contributions on the topic of the Media Day 2023 on "AI in everyday media life". In terms of content, the focus is on exploring the opportunities and challenges of AI applications in various areas of society as well as ethical questions of responsibility and sustainability. Accordingly, the event will focus on critical-reflexive perspectives on current and future possible uses of AI applications. General description of contents:
Providing the availability of places, courses corresponding to
10 ECTS-Credits can be chosen from the involved institutions (LehrerInnenbildung West), with the exception of courses from the other teaching subject. With regard to professional practice it is recommended to take courses on media-related topics (e.g. methods of media research, e-inclusion, digital divide, media analysis, visual competence, media history, media didactics, media and gender, media and politics, media communication, media languages, intermediality, e-education, e-learning, media competence, media activism, media sociology, media psychology, media and knowledge management, media and spaces, media ethics, media aesthetics).

Invited lectures, plenary discussions, active participation in the media day event. 

Active participation in the lecture and written essay about a specialization topic considering the discussions in the course, current discourses as well as selected theoretical and empirical references to the LV topic (volume: approx. 15 pages).

References will be communicated in the course.
