At this level learners can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance - e.g. information about people and family, shopping, leisure; they can describe by simple means their own background and education, immediate environment and things related to immediate needs; they can do simple errands - e.g. shopping or traveling.

Topics: Vacation and visiting; curriculum vitae; housing and apartment; clothing; daily work life.

Language learning objectives: Formulating generalizations; asking polite questions; describing someone or something; comparing things; expressing a need; making polite requests; giving the time of day.

Structural Learning Objectives: Aorist - to formulate polite questions and to reflect habitual activities; suffixes "-dikten sonra" and "-meden önce" - to express secondary actions that occur before or after the main action; "lazım" and "gerekmek" - to express the necessity of an action; suffix "-ebil-" - to express the possibility or to express the possibility or permission of an action; suffix "-irken" - to express the simultaneous course of two actions.
