They are able to understand longer text units and translate them into German. They repeat and consolidate their knowledge of Latin grammar and develop suitable translation options for more complex grammatical structures. Through the translation activity, they train their ability to express themselves in German and increase their vocabulary in Latin.
Introduction to the author and work read in the course; translation of selected passages; repetition of grammatical phenomena based on the original Latin text.
Joint translation of text passages prepared at home.
Vocabulary tests, translation performance during the units, written final exam.
A bibliography will be handed out and discussed at the beginning of the course. A critical edition of the original texts in will be provided online.
