Students receive an insight in contemporary, avantgardistic and historical forms of intermediality. They will understand the way two or more media cooperate. 

The traditionel "triadic model" (lyrical, narrative and dramatic texts) will be openend. Kepser/Abraham (Literaturdidaktik Deutsch, 2016) argue that graphic novel and film have to be added as fourth and fifth form.

Today graphic novel, film, poetry slam, concrete poetry, graffiti can be considered as new literary forms. What connects them is intermediality, i.e. the combination of traditionally separated forms. At the same time the difference between high and low is relativated. 

The contemporary forms can be related to historical forms like song, opera, emblema, carmina figurata. A special role is assumed by the film and by christian art in so far as it is an illustration of the bible and of legends. 

Future teachers will find inspiration for dealing actively with contemporary, avangardistic and historical forms of intermediality at school.
