In this course you will get the opportunity to improve the translation competences you achieved in ÜI and ÜII. Furthermore, you will start to prepare for the course "Prüfungsprojekt". Important: You can participate in this course even before enrolling for the course "Prüfungsprojekt"; we even recommend it to you.

You will translate authentic source texts and will get the opportunity to improve your textual and cultural competence. You will also lern new translation strategies - everything with the aim to produce functional translations. Therefore, we will also practise self-correction and we will integrate first exercices preparing you for professional post-editing tasks.

You will have to prepare translation assignments individually and within the specified time. These assignments will serve as a basis for interactive lessons (discussions! questions! active participation! ideas!)

2 written tests: 1 test in class, 1 homework assignment in groups.

You will receive all information about relevant literature as well as worksheets, source texts, etc. in class.

To participate in this course, it is necessary that you have already passed the translation course ÜII French>German/German>French.

Until successful completion of the entrance and orientation phase of studies (StEOP), students may not acquire more than a maximum of 22 ECTS points overall.
