winter semester 2023/2024 | Last update: 10.06.2023 | Place course on memo listThe Translation III, Spanish-German (UE) course will aim to refine translation skills.
In the context of translation assignments based on non-technical texts, the following topics will be dealt with:
– text analysis,
– translation problems,
– translation strategies,
– research methods,
– evaluation of translations,
– translation commentaries,
– machine translation and postediting.
The focus will be on an interactive approach as well as on the analysis and discussion of translation assignments, worked out individually or in groups.
The assessment will be based on written midterm and final exams.
Reference lists, scripts, and translation assignments will be distributed either in digital format or in hard copy.
Students wishing to participate in the course must have successfully completed compulsory module 15 or elective module 2.
Electronic registration via the online study programme is compulsory for participation in the course.
Before completing the entrance and orientation phase of studies (StEOP) students may not acquire more than 22 ECTS-AP overall.

- SDG 16 - Peace, justice and strong institutions: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
