A critical revision of the current state of the literature will be held continuously throughout the seminar. For this, students are asked to independently extract information from topic-specific scientific literature. Additionally, practical exercises are implemented in the seminar.
In this seminar students will be introduced to research methods used in the field of clinical psychoneuroimmunology. We will address and practise several laboratory tests that are used to induce a physiological stress response and we will discuss laboratory assys for measuring stress-related biomarkers. Also, several validated and commonly used questionnaires will be considered. Additionally, we review research methods like functional MRI and other cutting-edge technologies like virtual reality.

Topic-specific literature will be assigned at the beginning of the seminar. Literature can be recommended after an initial independent search for sources relevant to the topic.
