In this seminar, students deal with their ideas about their own professional future and concretize them. After completing the seminar, the students know the process of a "future workshop" based on their own implementation. Based on this, they will learn a structured procedure for starting their own business as a psychologist and will be able to apply it.

The participants are asked to deal with the question of their own professional future as a self-employed or freelance psychologist in a creative and structured way. An examination of individual interests, ideas and expectations of one's own professional future is expected.

Starting from this situation, the first part of the course uses the creativity-promoting method of the "future workshop" to meet challenges on the way to professional work as a psychologist with creative ideas. Students join together in teams to work out job-related challenges and find possible solutions.

In the second part of the seminar, students work out a business model for a (fictitious) company to be founded by dealing with essential questions about customer benefits, business structure, revenue model and corporate spirit in a structured manner and on the basis of justified assumptions. These considerations are discussed with the seminar participants and the instructor and will be continuously documented. Finally, they form the basis for the creation of a business plan that outlines the viable foundation of one's own company.

No special knowledge is required for participation, but curiosity, open-mindedness and the willingness to consider an independent profession at least possible for oneself personally are expected.

Oral presentations by the lecturer, discussions and oral presentations by the participants, group meetings, writing assignments.

Examinations using continuous assessment based on regular written and/or oral contributions from the participants.
