- Students know the internal structure and geological units of Mars as well as the basic processes that lead to the formation of the terrestrial planets.
- Students can process combined data sets from Mars rover or astronaut field missions and extract specific scientifically relevant parameters.
- Students will be able to select the appropriate analytical methods to be used on Mars to solve a specific scientific problem or to select the best samples to be returned to Earth
- Students are able to design a Martian-specific workflow plan for a specific scientific question and can evaluate their approach based on the simulated implementation in an analog mission.
- Basics in Planetology
- Accretion of the terrestrial planets
- Mars Geology
- Geophysics and the Mars interior
- Basics in the pysics of Spaceflight
- Mars Rover Instrumentation
- Human Spaceflight and Analog Research
- 2-day field trip to Vienna: Visit of the "Mission Support Center" of the ÖWF with the aim of fictitiously supervising and evaluationg a previously developed workflow for solving a scientific problem within the framework of an analogue mission.
