844523 UE Measurement in Structural Dynamics
winter semester 2023/2024 | Last update: 02.08.2023 | Place course on memo listUnderstanding of experimental modal analysis
Further understnading of frequency domain methods in structural dynamics
Knowledge of basics of signal processing and its importance in measurement technology
Repetition modal analysis, extension to non-classically damped systems
Repetiton frequency domain methods and extension with respect ot experimental modal analysis
Fourier analysis (Fourier series, Fourier transformation, discrete Fourier transformation)
Stochastic methods (Power spectral densities)
Device-specific basics (impulse hammer, piezoelectric acceleration sensor)
Basics of digital signal processing (sampling, discretization, aliasing, leakage, filters, windows)
Theory: Theoretical basics are delivered in blocked form (starting ca. in november, once basics have been discussed in the class Structural Dynamics 1).
Pratice: After positive evaluation of an intermediate test an experimental modal analysis of a structure/strucural part is conducted. Work in groups of 3 under supervision of the course leader (starting ca. in january).
Writing of test reports. Final oral examination.
Printed course material
Attendance of the class “Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering 1”
Compulsory registration
