Students are familiar with the fundamentals of digital signal processing. They understand, under which conditions sampling in the time domain is not associated with information loss. They know how to describe discrete LTI systems in the time and z domain and can infer stability and frequency properties. They can represent discrete LTI systems algebraically as well as graphically and switch between these representations. They are familiar with the effects and limiting factors of spectral analysis with the DFT.
Fourier transform; sampling theorem: basics of A/D conversion; discrete signals; convolution; LTI systems; z transform; transfer functions; basics of digital FIR and IIR filters; discrete Fourier transform (DFT); fast fourier transform; windowing.
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
