At this level the learner can introduce themselves and others, answer questions about personal details - e.g. where they live, where they come from; he/she can communicate in a basic way if the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is disposed to help.
Topics:
in the language classroom; in a café; at university; shopping; a birthday party; a phone call
Linguistic Goals:
to introduce yourself; to give personal and family information: personal details/background/place of residence/phone number/profession; to offer somebody something, to accept something/turn something down; to understand an informal telephone conversation; to assess something; to write an informal letter; to go shopping; to congratulate somebody; to ask what time it is
Structural Goals:
nouns in the singular/plural; definite and indefinite articles, personal pronouns in the nominative/dative/accusative - to indicate objects and people; cardinal numbers from 0 - 100; declination of adjectives - to indicate nationality and to describe a person or object in some detail; the present indicative conjugation - to describe actions in the present; imperative - to express commands/advice/instructions; the conjugation of reflexive verbs - to verbalize actions which exclusively refer to the subject; the past tense indicative conjugation - to talk about an action, which was completed in the past; possessive pronouns - to indicate possession

final test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension and speaking/dialogues)
