-          By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

-          Present data in tables and graphs,  

-          Calculate descriptive measures including measures of location and dispersion,  

-          Calculate probability of discrete and continuous distributions,  

-          Estimate parameters using point estimates and confidence intervals,  

-          Perform hypothesis tests; Obtain and Interpret P-Values.   

-          Apply basic mathematical and analytical skills to practical, real-world quantitative information in the context of their discipline, or multiple disciplines, to solve problems and draw conclusions. 

This course is an introduction to statistical methods and is used for degree credit only in the College of Business Administration.  Topics covered in this course include tabular and graphical presentation of data, descriptive measures including measures of location and dispersion, introduction to probability theory, discrete and continuous distributions with applications, statistical inference including sampling, point and interval estimation and hypothesis testing.  

 

The software R/RStudio will be used illustrations, modeling, and data visualization. No prior experience with R/RStudio is required. The class will start with simple illustrations using R/RStudio to introduce the usage.
