Curr. 2021 § 6 (2) 7:Students have knowledge in different cultural sociological concepts of modelling the relation between culture and society. They are able to recognize and describe the explanatory power of appropriate concepts for analysing cultural and social processes.

The lecture provides an introductory overview of the development of the concept of culture as well as of cultural sociology. Building on sociological classics as Weber, Durkheim, Mauss, Mannheim, Elias and the Frankfurt School, the lecture outlines different perspectives and theoretical conceptualizations of cultural analysis.
