This class will introduce the students to the methods of linguistic fieldwork: how to analyse a structure of a language you do not know, relying on the knowledge of a non-linguist native speaker. 

We will explore and describe the phonology and morphosyntax of the selected language based on data collected in elicitation sessions and joint analyses of basic texts.
