An understanding of more complex argumentative and specialised texts and an appreciation of nuances incl. allusion, humour, word-play etc. To promote the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in discussions and problem-solving tasks

A variety of advanced listening texts, and contemporary topics/issues and problems

CDs, DVDs, videos etc. Communicative, interactive class discussions highlighting the ability to make one’s point clearly and fluently

Final exam consisting of both listening and speaking examinations. Assessed coursework consisting of 2 listening exercises made by the student (will be explained in the course) and an individual presentation.
