This lecture aims to introduce students to narratives within the English classroom, emphasizing literary texts while also exploring related genres like digital games, narratives in social media, and cultural discourses. While literary studies and their methodologies form the core focus, the broader aim is to familiarize future educators with terminology, genres, historical periods, and pertinent themes. Moreover, the lecture will underscore the importance of literature in teaching and learning languages and cultures. Practical suggestions and methods for integrating these literary texts into English classrooms will accompany the discussions. The primary texts, including novels, novellas, and short stories, will encompass both traditional selections and recommendations for innovative narrative materials.
