Acquisition of an overall contextual knowledge of the history of Modern Times based on key questions and aspects.
The lecture provides an overview of the European history from the Reformation to the beginning of the First World War. Special attention is paid to the dimensions of politics, society, religion, culture and science. Furthermore, the effects of methodical innovation in historical research on the interpretation of modern processes of change are dealt with.
Lecture with discussions, accompanying reading and work in OLAT
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations": written exam at end of term
A bibliography is given in the first lesson.
