Learning Outcome:

Graduates of this module have acquired specialized knowledge in inverse problems. They are able to develop innovative solutions for current inverse problems and to critically evaluate different approaches. They will have developed learning strategies that enable them to acquire further mathematical content autonomously.

Contents:

(1) Introduction (examples, ill-posed problems)

(2) Regularization theory (spectral methods, Tikhonov regularization)

(3) Convergence rates

(4) Nonlinear inverse problems

(5) Numerical aspects

(6) Deep learning for inverse problems

(7) Applications in computed tomography

Methods:

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).

Assessment:

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"
