Besides providing information on the empirical evidence on the determinants of affective disorders, this course will offer insights on the kind of evidence in existence from recent epidemiological and genetic studies.
Genetic modelling of affective disorders, twin studies of affective disorders. Life events and depression. Dispositional factors (personality, neuroticism). Long-term effects of loss and trauma.
Presentation of selected chapter from the textbook.
Evaluation of presentations of participants and contribution to the discussion.
