720308 VL Theories, Methods and Research Results of Aplied Psychology: Work across the lifespan
summer semester 2024 | Last update: 08.01.2024 | Place course on memo listThis course examines the consequences of aging societies for individuals and organizations from the perspective of work and organizational psychology. Knowing the effects of aging on individual action regulation and the reciprocal effects of action regulation on age-related changes in cognition, motivation, and personality will enable participants to contribute to the human-oriented redesign of organizations and work activities.
Throughout a person's life, work plays a central role as a conscious, volitional, and goal-oriented activity. This course examines the reciprocal interdependence between working individuals and the systems they work in from a lifespan perspective. Based on theories of lifelong and multidirectional development, intraindividual plasticity, and the simultaneous occurrence of losses and growth, we will examine the complex relationship between aging and work.
In the first part of the course, theoretical approaches and empirical findings on the topic are explained and discussed. In the second part of the course, groups of participants will work on problem statements that require an examination of the scientific literature, the execution of interviews, and the preparation of a design concept.
Examinations using continuous assessment based on oral contributions and final written examination.
