Awareness about the relevance of Mountains and their influence on different spheres; understanding of natural and anthropogenic processes in Mountain regions including feedbacks; knowledge about challenges and sustainable development pathways in mountain regions; overview about mountain research in Innsbruck
Based on natural and cultural landscapes in the Ötztal, mountain systems are presented in cooperation with local actors (nature park, museum of local history, residents). The influence of mountains on different spheres (atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere etc.) will be discussed as well as the influence of these spheres on social developments during the last centuries. Natural hazards, tourism and mountain agriculture will be in the focus, challenges, conflicts of interesst and pathways for sustainable developments of mountain regions will also be discussed.
