Learning Outcome:

Students are able to apply basic knowledge in mechanics, kinematics, and strength of materials to simple engineering components. They are trained in selecting, assessing and dimensioning selected machine elements and have basic knowledge about their functionality.

Contents:

Stress analysis and dimensioning (interaction between loading, behavior, and failure of materials and mechanisms); application and drawing of machine elements (axles/shafts, roller bearings, screws) considering material, manufacturing, assembly, operation, and costs

Assessment:

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
