With the basic knowledge they have acquired about the mental health of children and adolescents, students can address relevant topics in the classroom and use their knowledge of the epidemiology of various disorders, stress and risk factors as well as protective factors and prevention options to plan and implement teaching units that are appropriate for the target group. They know about the different psychosocial support services for children and young people and can evaluate the individual needs of those affected against the background of specific responsibilities and access to support facilities. They are familiar with the method of digital storytelling and are able to reflect on their own attitude in a group setting. They are familiar with the START program and can then carry out the modules it contains independently with students. They will be able to assess the mental health of pupils in a group setting, reflect on their personal attitude and action strategies for looking after their own mental health, and be aware of their own (excessive) demands based on specific examples from everyday school life.

This course will NOT take place in the winter semester 2024/25 and will be offered in the summer semester 2025!
