Students have a command of the topics dealt with in the courses and are able to contextualize and interpret the acquired factual knowledge. They are confident in recognizing of relationships and in structuring historic routines and processes.

When students complete their Master's thesis they are usually thrown into the "cold water" of the academic world and have to learn to find their feet quickly. In this course, we will discuss and practise the most important steps that praedocs will have to take. Presenting one's own research is one of the most important things in academia but then questions arise how to receive conference invitations and how to compose a paper. Reviews and conference reports are the first publications that come to mind at the beginning of an academic career. We will talk about how to get to these opportunities and how to successfully master them. Moreover, the discussion if and how Anglo-Saxon and German academia differs and how to write academically in English will be one of our issues in course.
