The students

- understand the concept of global citizenship education and its interdisciplinary, "glocal" dimension

- know about 17 UN Development Goals (SDGs) and Inner Development Goals (IDGs) in relation to self-perception, attitude, learning and action in a globalised world

- take a critical look at economic, social and ecological global challenges (such as the climate crisis, global inequality, North-South relations) from an educational perspective

- reflect on their own positioning in global power relations (e.g. critical whiteness, post-colonialist, anti-racist stance)

- learn about relevant NGOs, organisations and actors in Tyrol/Austria

The English-language proseminar "Global Citizenship Education in times of crisis? Introduction to the concept of GCED, SDGs and the Inner Development Goals" is aimed at students of all fields of study.

The focus is on the question of how GCED can accompany learners in the field of education (school and extracurricular education, university, adult education, further education and training in companies) to an increasingly complex world in the face of major global crises.

What is necessary from the perspective of GCED (attitudes, competences, values, knowledge) to contribute to global sustainable development?

The discussion of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) supports the learning process of the heterogeneous, interdisciplinary group. In addition to literature work, various methods of co-creation, self-reflection and project work, smaller excursions to relevant institutions (Caritas Welthaus, Südwind, Impact Hub Tirol, Klimabündnis etc.) in Tyrol and discussions with experts are planned.

interactive, process-oriented, interdisciplinary learning opportunities, literature work, innovative methods of co-creation and group work (service design, anti-bias approach, Betzavta), self-reflection, project design and implementation and visits to institutions active in the field of global education in Tyrol (e.g. Caritas Welthaus, Impact Hub Tirol Klimabündnis Tirol, InfoEck - Jugendinfo Tirol and Südwind Tirol).
