800706 SE Thinking violence: Materialist-(queer)feminist perspectives on violence, labour and gender
winter semester 2024/2025 | Last update: 26.11.2024 | Place course on memo listApplication of theory in practice (students create a transfer between theoretical concepts of sexualized violence and everyday contexts), recognition of complex structures of violence (students can identify complex structures and mechanisms of sexualized violence; this includes understanding how violence is rooted in different social, economic and political contexts and how it manifests itself), commitment to social change (students expand their repertoire of action in dealing with sexualized violence by analyzing the transformational potential of social movements)
In this course, we will look at the conditions of sexualized violence from a (queer) feminist perspective. We look at the historical development of the politicization of sexualized violence in (queer) feminist struggles since the 1970s and examine the role of the state, the privatization of the social and the economization of social relations. We expand our repertoire of action in dealing with sexualized violence by analysing the transformative potential of social movements.
