winter semester 2024/2025 | Last update: 14.09.2024 | Place course on memo listBasic understanding of geomorphological processes and geomorphological working methods.
Engineering geomorphology is concerned with the assessment of surface processes, landform changes and geomorphological hazards, which are related to planning, civil engineering and construction. The special position as an interdisciplinary link between geosciences and environmental engineering should be brought closer to master students. The following main contents are planned: general geomorphology, slope processes, tasks and methods of engineering geomorphology.
lecture, geomorphological mapping, field exercise, group work.
project work with an oral presentation and a written examination.
Lecture notes (pptx) and Fookes, Lee & Griffiths (2007): Engineering Geomorphology. Theory and Practice. Whittles Publishing.
The course could be held in a digital/hybrid form.
