winter semester 2024/2025 | Last update: 19.08.2024 | Place course on memo listStudents get to know the everyday working life of a geotechnical engineer, can establish contacts with practice and get to know potential future employers.
Particularly relevant or interesting geotechnical projects are presented by experts and then discussed in depth during an extensive moderated discussion. These can be, for example, large tunnel projects, deep excavations, unstable slopes, dams, etc. A strong focus lays on innovative construction methods, resource-saving construction and sustainable approaches. A reference to Innsbruck as a business location will be established.

This course is suitable for interested students of all faculties who have or would like to establish a connection to building in mountain regions. The lecture is based at the Faculty of Technical Sciences; students from the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences are expected to be also strongly interested in the subject.
