- you will have expanded your knowledge of science communication,
- you will know different aspects and projects of this so-called 'third mission' and can reflect on them critically,
- you will be able to relate this knowledge to your own research,
- you will have individually or jointly developed and implemented a science communication project that connects your research with perspectives of Gender Studies,
- you will have published your own contribution in social media (e.g., blogpost, podcast, video on Youtube or TikTok, Instagram, timeline on Bluesky or Mastodon...)
First, the group will read about science communication and critically reflect this field with regard to gender relations and other dimensions of inequality. Doctoral researchers will then develop their own projects (either individually or in working groups) in order to train the transfer of academic knowledge to a broader public. In doing so, findings of your own research, of gender studies, and of academic methods will be explained in an understandable way and presented in social media.
Input by course instructor, text discussion, project development and presentation, writing exercises, peer learning and peer feedback
