Students are capable of designing adaptive and other special digital filters in order to transform Signals in a desired manner. They are able to use signal analysis methods in the time domain and frequency domain to extract information from unknown or partially known signals.
Special Topics of signal processing: adaptive filters, special digital filters, signal analysis in time and frequency domains, short time Fourier transform (STFT), spectrograms, wavelets.
Lectures and programming excercises, predominantly in Matlab.
Continuous assessment and evaluation of individual projects.
