By the end of this lecture on "Special Topics 1: Modern Drive and Energy Systems," students will be able to control drive systems with Synchronous and Asynchronous motors and to model and calculate the losses of modern SiC inverters for drive systems.
In this course we will cover various topics from modern drive systems. The lecture is organized so that it balances theory and practical implementations. The flow will be so that one week we cover theory for a certain topic and in the following week there is a practical implmentation on a real drive system (Sciamble). The topics that will be covered are:
- Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation
- Vector Control of PMSM
- Characterization of Induction Motor
- Induction Motor V/f Control
- Vector Control of Induction Motor
- Modeling and Loss Calculation for SiC MOSFET Inverters
