§ 11 Internship

(1) To try out and apply their acquired knowledge and skills and to orientate themselves to the conditions of professional practice and the acquisition of additional competences, students of this Bachelor¿s degree in German Studies have the opportunity to complete an internship instead of an elective module (5 ECTS-Credits) a placement amounting up to 120 hours can be completed.
(2)The placement can only be completed after the end of the second semester at the earliest. It is recommended to complete the placement only after the fourth semester. Before admission to the placement, the approval of the University Dean of Studies is required.
(3) The placement is to be completed in institutions where the emphasis is on special subject areas, for example in the media (print media, radio, television, new media) in company communications/advertising, in PR-areas like, for example, politics, or in language teaching (German as a foreign language), in literature archives, literature houses, book or journal publishers or firms (advertising, public relation).
(4) A certificate of the institution is to be provided including the duration, extent and content of the task to be completed, and a short report thereof is to be written.
