Learning Outcome: Students acquire basic knowledge of social and political theories.
Compulsory Module 4: European Social Structure and Culture and Gender Studies (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students acquire basic knowledge of the economy, society and culture of Europe as well as an awareness of the relevance of gender identity.
Compulsory Module 7: Life World, Life Forms: Individual and Society 1 (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of the compulsory modules according to § 5 Para 1 No 1 and Para 2 No 1A
Learning Outcome: The aim of this unit is to familiarise students with established methods like understanding sociology and symbolic interactionism as well as with the corresponding core issues of cultural sociology and new impulses form Women's Studies, Queer Theory and post-structuralism. With the help of ethnographical studies students deepen their understanding of micro-sociological issues and cultural sociology.
Compulsory Module 8: Rural and Regional Sociology 1 (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of the compulsory modules according to § 5 Para 1 No 1 and Para 2 No 1A
Learning Outcome: Students acquire basic knowledge of the theories and processes of regional development, town and country relations as well as rural and development sociology. Students acquire knowledge of the practical relevance and the use of theoretical models - eg. of rural sociology.
Compulsory Module 9: Advanced Methods of Social Sciences (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of the compulsory module according to § 5 Para 2 No 1B
Learning Outcome: Students acquire advanced knowledge of the methods of the social sciences and deepen these with the help of concrete examples.
