Module 1A: In-Depth Study of History I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 2h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Competence to structure short- and long-term processes and sequences of events; competence to reflective analysis of generation of historical knowledge with consideration of problem- and method-oriented questions about the ancient world.
Module 2A: In-Depth Study of History II (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Broadening of subject-specific knowledge by examination of new topics, with consideration of current research tendencies and controversies; implementation of scientific competences (methods and work techniques), development of qualifications in autonomous historical reasoning.
Module 3B: Cultural Spaces Archaeological Training (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: To take autonomous responsibility in organising and leading part of a scientific excavation, as well as to process archaeological findings and complete the relevant documentation.
Module 5B: Research Workshop II (7.5 ECTS, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Presentation of the questions of the Master thesis including an overview on research literature and source material, communication, rationale and defense of one¿s own research conception, contents and conclusions; reflection on one's own scientific work, use of one's own knowledge to examine new and unfamiliar topics; becoming familiar with peer review, practice of constructive handling of critique, evaluation of current research controversies.
Module 6/7: Modules from other Master study programmes of the Faculty of Humanities 1 (7.5/7.5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: The registration requirements of the respective curricula do apply.
Learning Outcome: In addition to the goal described for the individual modules, students will gain insight into other scientific disciplines or deepen the knowledge of their own.
