Learning Outcome: Understanding of the principles of Textual Criticism and the skill of using the critical apparatus.
Module 18: In Depth Study of Latin (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Broadening passive language competence and translation competence in Latin;
understanding of the ancient metric system including fundamentals of prosody as well as aspects of rhythm, music and history of genres; competence of recognising, analysing and presenting measures.
Module 19: In Depth Study of Greek (7.5 ECT-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Broadening passive language competence and translation competence in Greek;
understanding of the ancient metric system including fundamentals of prosody as well as aspects of rhythm, music and history of genres; competence of recognising, analysing and presenting measures.
Module 20: Command of Language: Latin (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The students consolidate their command of Latin up to a degree that allows the lecture of easy to moderately difficult texts. They improve their logical thinking, consolidate their understanding of their mother tongue and broaden their sensitivity for foreign idioms by dealing with the structures and idioms of the foreign language.
