Learning Outcome: Students understand higher mathematics and are able to apply their acquired mathematical methods with physical and chemical problems. Students master the basic concepts of physics and understand the basic principles of the way of thinking of physics.

Module 3: General Chemistry B (10 ECTS-Credits, 9 h)

Learning Outcome: Students acquire general knowledge to work safely in chemical laboratories and for the responsible treatment of dangerous substances. Students can apply stoichiometric calculations and acquire practical lab knowledge through introductory experiments on topics of general chemistry. In the practical session on general chemistry students also acquire inter-disciplinary key competences in team work as well as oral and written communication skills.

Learning Outcome: Students have knowledge of the most important classes of chemical materials and basic concepts of inorganic chemistry and they know the uses of inorganic materials in the environment and technology.

Learning Outcome: Students have knowledge of the theoretical basics and of the structure and reactivity of organic materials.

Learning Outcome: With respect to the teaching content of inorganic chemistry the students learn experimental knowledge in the identification and qualitative analysis of inorganic salts and metals. Students acquire key interdisciplinary competencies such as teamwork and communication skills both oral and written.

Learning Outcome: Students have knowledge of the fundamentals of electroanalysis and of atomspectroscopy ad can use chemometric data analysis processes in analytical chemistry
