Module 4: Islamic principles of faith (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to illustrate the Islamic religion, its origins and development. In addition, they are able to reproduce the classic Islamic scientific disciplines as well as the methodological and theoretical main questions.
Module 6: Qur'an Studies (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to reflect and interpret written sources of Islam methodically. Furthermore, they are capable of deducing practice support from the sources for the Muslim pupils in relation to present challenges.
Module 8: Islamic philosophy and culture II (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the genesis, development, spreading and meaning of philosophy in the Islamic culture as well as its contribution to the history of philosophy. They are competent to recognize the meaning of the present relevance of Islamic philosophy and ethics for the inter-religious dialogue and apply those context sensitively. The applicants are competent to recognize and transfer their ethic responsibility in the present. Furthermore, they are able to explain the historical genesis and the development of the various Islamic confessions as well as their significance for the daily life.
Module 9: Religious education research (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to critically analyse and interpret current trends in religious education. Furthermore, they can critically analyse social science theories, methods, perspectives and assessments correlating those with Muslim daily life. Moreover, they know how to apply their understanding of qualitative empirical research in the theological-religious educational context.
Module 12: Foundations of Educational Science II (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe contents and purposes of developmental psychology and the current socialisation- and development theories in a competent way. Additionally, they can critically discuss the most important terms and paradigms of the development and socialisation theories. They are able to apply basic knowledge in the area of institutions and processes, where formation and education takes place, in a context sensitive way.
Module 13: Muslims and society I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to critically discuss the conditions for the emergence of differences and relationships of dependence in the migration society. Moreover, they are qualified for working on questions with migration pedagogical perspective.
Module 16: Compulsory school II - Muslims in Austria (10 ECTS-Credits, 7 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of the mandatory module 18 is required for admission to the module "Compulsory schools II - Muslims in Austria".
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to design the religious education for heterogeneous contexts at compulsory school level. They have a competent, didactical-methodical handling of different forms of working in religious education and, moreover, they are able to describe the legal and theological significance of the IGGiÖ for the Muslims in Austria.
Module 18: Principles of religious teaching methodology (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe and distinguish between concepts, criteria and rationales for the complex and gender-sensitive events of religious learning and teaching in the context of schools, adult education and communities. They can use the "Innsbruck model for religious teaching methodology" ("Innsbrucker Modell der Religionsdidaktik") as a basis for religious education in different settings.
Module 19: Advanced subject-specific teaching of religious teaching methodology (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates develop on their own projects in the context of religious education, counselling and adult education. They describe theory and practice of educational work in communities.
