Module 3: Special Questions in the History of Philosophy (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Broadening and consolidation of expert knowledge in the field of History of Philosophy; consolidation of awareness of philosophical problems; competence of expertly dealing with History of Philosophy from a systematic perspective, based on selected philosophers or works of History of Philosophy; skill to relate special questions in History of Philosophy to each other, scrutinize them independently and develop them as sources for current questions and solutions for current problems.
Module 6: Applied Ethics (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Broadening and consolidation of knowledge of selected questions and theories in the field of Applied Ethics; raising awareness for ethical problems; skill to analyze selected questions and theories in Applied Ethics, to scrutinize them independently and to relate them to current social problems.
Module 7: Philosophy in Scientific and Public Discourse (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Consolidated knowledge of selected philosophical topics, questions and theories in the context of other scientific disciplines and/or discussions of public relevance; skill of recognising and developing philosophical competences independently in view of their relevance for work.
Module 8: Master Thesis Defense (2.5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of all other compulsory and elective modules as well as the Master thesis
Learning Outcome: Examination of the Master thesis in the overall context of the Master programme in Philosophy; with special focus on theoretical comprehension, methodical issues, communication of findings of the Master thesis and presentation skills.
