Module 1: Methodology and Philosophy of Science (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: After completing this module, students are equipped to question critically the limits and possibilities of various methods, to estimate their practical usefullness and reflect critically on the implicit conditions of the methods of psychology. They possess an understanding of epistemological and ethical aspects of psychological research and competence with scientific theories as well as special knowledge of various qualitative and quantitative procedures.
Module 2: Psychological Diagnostics I (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: After completing this module, students possess well-founded knowledge of the various test construction procedures. Procedures for personality diagnosis often used in practice can be evaluated both according to their construction and according to basic personality theories, so that the instruments relevant for a particular diagnostic problem may be selected and applied.
Module 3: Psychological Diagnostics II (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 2.
Learning Outcome: Students are equipped to collect and work through diagnostical information and issues and adequately process it in a questioning way; the data collection and decision-making processes can be illustrated in the form of a written report, according to the problem diagnosed.
Module 4: Psychological Counselling (2.5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 6.
Learning Outcome: After completion of this module, students have mastered various counselling techniques (e.g.: active listening, mirroring, circular questioning, explaining) and their use in various psychological contexts (e.g.: initial chat, counselling). Students are able to analyse critically their own counselling encounters and to apply diverse counselling techniques.
Module 5: Basic Research (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)

Learning Outcome: Students are equipped with an enhanced knowledge and acquire comprehensive insights into various areas of human thinking, living and behaving. They are able to apply this knowledge to a large number of bio-psycho-social phenomena in differentiated forms.
Module 6: Advanced Clinical Psychology I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: After completing this module, students have in-depth knowledge of the most important psychotherapeutical procedures and of the intervention techniques in various disturbances. Moreover, they have an overview of the various research approaches in the psychotherapeutical process as well as in outcome research. They can critically evaluate the former with respect to research and practice.
Module 7: Advanced Clinical Psychology II (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 6.
Learning Outcome: On the basis of intensive work with a selected clinical picture, students have a profound understanding of the genesis, course, and treatment of psychic disturbances. Moreover, they know the most important psychotherapeutical techniques, their possibilities, and limits to their use. Moreover, they can apply in practice the main elements of various intervention techniques.
Module 8: Advanced Work and Organisational Psychology I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: After completing this module, students possess well-founded competences in the use of diagnostic methods of industrial and organisational psychology as well as knowledge of the basic theoretical concepts (particularly of treatment regulation theory, activity theory, alienation theory, humanistic work motivation theories, socio-technical and micro-political approaches, concepts of organisational development). All this enables students to carry out independently work and organisational analyses and diagnoses and to plan surveys in companies. This forms a basis for further specialization in industrial and organisational psychology.
Module 9: Advanced Applied Psychology (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: After completion of this module, students possess enhanced core and methodological knowledge of certain areas of the subject. They understand the typical theories and the current state of research in such areas.
Module 10: Internship (10 ECTS-Credits)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students have an insight into professional and/or scientific practice. They know the task-setting problems and framework conditions of the practical work of psychologists and they are equipped for the analysis of the problems of psychological practice and can plan and carry out psychological interventions. They can analyse professional experiences from various perspectives and can understand not only the personal but also the constitutional conditions of psychological activities. They also possess a conceptional understanding of the relations between theory and practice and can use this understanding for their continuing theoretical training.
Module 11: Master's Thesis (Defence) (2.5 ECTS-Credits)

Prerequisites for registration: Positive grades in all the other compulsory and elective modules as well as in the Master's Thesis.
Learning Outcome: Reflection on the Master's Thesis in relation to the Master's Study Programme of Psychology as a whole. Theoretical understanding, methodological fundamentals, the mediation of the results of the Master's Thesis and presentation skills are paramount.
This module comprises a lecture on the theoretical fundamentals, methods and results of a Master's Thesis and its oral defence, which completes the student's studies in front of an examination committee.Notes:
