Module 13: Linguistics and Analysis (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory modules 2, 7 and 8.
Learning Outcome: Students of the compulsory module "Linguistics and Analysis" have mastered the basics of language-specific linguistics and thus the ability to analyse, understand and explain language utterances following the basic rules of grammar. The analysis includes both formal and functional levels. As well as mastery of grammatical terminology, the students begin to reflect on the foreign language they are studying; these linguistic reflections and analytical competences are not only necessary to their further linguistic training but rather indispensible for the acquisition of language at university level and essential for dealing with literary texts. On the other hand, the students get overview knowledge of the separate areas of linguistics with emphasis on the language studied and they are able to work independent with specialist linguistic literature.
