Module 17: Italy and its Literature (15 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 16.
Learning Outcome: Students are familiar with the writers and works of Italian literature that are accorded great relevance both in literary history and nowdays because they act as precursors of literary periods (Humanism, Renaissance, Enlightenment, the Romantic period) or reflect historical developments (Risorgimento, Fascism, Resistance) or they represent present-day phenomena and tendencies (Post-Modern, Globalisation, Migration, Media-Aesthetics). Through their reading list students are familiar with the important works of the literary canon. They can complete the module in two successive semesters.
