Learning Outcome: Competence in the critical treatment of literary texts from the English-speaking world; ability to deal with literary theories and to apply the methods of literary studies for the analysis of selected texts; understanding the links between literature, society (especially the multicultural societies of the UK and USA) and politics; awareness of the impact of literature and various cultural phenomena.
