Compulsory Module 10: Introduction to English Linguistics (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Knowledge of the diversity of possible issues in modern English linguistics with regard to the most important concepts, theories and methods; moreover, relevant practical aspects for school teaching (e.g. articulation, transcription exercises) as well as theoretical aspects are to be treated.

Learning Outcome: Knowledge of the variability of the English language as well as the importance of extralinguistic (i.e. social, psychological, gender-specific) factors in different sections of English linguistics
Compulsory Module 12: Applied Linguistics(5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)

Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of Compulsory Module 10
Learning Outcome: Knowledge of theories and methods of selected topics of applied English linguistics; insights into the current research state of the respective area; independence in scientific lecture; independent scientific working; exercise of scientific argumentation and expedient writing of bibliographs as well as presentation; individual and critical scientific working.
