Module 2: Introduction to Qur'an Studies (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to correctly use basic Arabic terminology (oral and written vocabulary) referring to the Qur'an. They can classify terms and topics of the Qur'an and read the Qur'an in Arabic.
Module 3: Islamic Theology (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are capable of explaining the origins, the history and the methodology of the Islamic jurisprudence. Moreover, they are able to analyse and identify the methodology of the Islamic jurisprudence, "fiqh" science, taking into consideration different directions of Islam in history and the present. Further, graduates know the history of "fiqh" science, its ideas and starting points as well as its new shaping in the modern age.
Module 5: Prophetic Tradition (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are capable of describing the origins and development of Hadith studies and can explain Hadith studies as well as critically discuss the Sunnah tradition.
Module 7: Islamic philosophy and culture I (10 ECTS-Credits, 7 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to professionally discuss the genesis and development of Islamic mysticism. They can describe the basic topics of metaphysics as an aspect of understanding the Islamic philosophy. They are able to identify the main parts of Islamic history of arts and culture as well as describe Islamic art forms. Graduates know the different epochs of Islamic history and understand the socio-economic and political backgrounds of different theological problems.
Module 10: Islamic religious education (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to point out the relevance of the theological anthropology for current challenges and are able to bring into discussion the Islamic image of humanity. They are able to link Qur'an and prophetic contents with their own environment. Furthermore they are capable of discussing differentiating over the duties and aims of the Islamic education. Graduates are able to reflect Islamic values in the context of the society, including gender studies.
Module 11: Foundations of Educational Science I (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the basis of knowledge in education and formation in the context of societal developments and understandings. They are able to articulate the distinctions among educational and formational scientific terms and situations, and are able to reflect on their own practice in light of these terms and situations.
Module 15: Compulsory schools I (10 ECTS-Credits, 7 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of the mandatory module 18 is required for admission to the module "Compulsory schools I".
Learning Outcome: Graduates know the framework of religious education at elementary, secondary and at new secondary schools. They are able to plan, guide and evaluate religious teaching on the basis of relevant teaching methodologies. Furthermore, they can apply the legal framework to the context of education.
Module 17: Islam at school (5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the main fields of action of educational sciences. They can constructively handle religious differences and similarities at school.
