Module 1: Introduction to scientific practice and to Qur'an Studies (5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to objectively evaluate the decision for their field of study. They can describe the layout and the development process of an academic publication. They know the basic terminology, important and current topics and questions in Qur'an studies and can formulate those in a contemporary context.
Module 2: Introduction to Qur'an Studies (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to correctly use basic Arabic terminology (oral and written vocabulary) referring to the Qur'an. They can classify terms and topics of the Qur'an and read the Qur'an in Arabic.
Module 3: Islamic Theology (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are capable of explaining the origins, the history and the methodology of the Islamic jurisprudence. Moreover, they are able to analyse and identify the methodology of the Islamic jurisprudence, "fiqh" science, taking into consideration different directions of Islam in history and the present. Further, graduates know the history of "fiqh" science, its ideas and starting points as well as its new shaping in the modern age.
Module 4: Islamic principles of faith (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to illustrate the Islamic religion, its origins and development. In addition, they are able to reproduce the classic Islamic scientific disciplines as well as the methodological and theoretical main questions.
Module 5: Prophetic Tradition (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are capable of describing the origins and development of Hadith studies and can explain Hadith studies as well as critically discuss the Sunnah tradition.
Module 6: Qur'an Studies (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to reflect and interpret written sources of Islam methodically. Furthermore, they are capable of deducing practice support from the sources for the Muslim pupils in relation to present challenges.
Module 7: Islamic philosophy and culture I (10 ECTS-Credits, 7 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to professionally discuss the genesis and development of Islamic mysticism. They can describe the basic topics of metaphysics as an aspect of understanding the Islamic philosophy. They are able to identify the main parts of Islamic history of arts and culture as well as describe Islamic art forms. Graduates know the different epochs of Islamic history and understand the socio-economic and political backgrounds of different theological problems.
Module 8: Islamic philosophy and culture II (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the genesis, development, spreading and meaning of philosophy in the Islamic culture as well as its contribution to the history of philosophy. They are competent to recognize the meaning of the present relevance of Islamic philosophy and ethics for the inter-religious dialogue and apply those context sensitively. The applicants are competent to recognize and transfer their ethic responsibility in the present. Furthermore, they are able to explain the historical genesis and the development of the various Islamic confessions as well as their significance for the daily life.
Module 9: Religious education research (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to critically analyse and interpret current trends in religious education. Furthermore, they can critically analyse social science theories, methods, perspectives and assessments correlating those with Muslim daily life. Moreover, they know how to apply their understanding of qualitative empirical research in the theological-religious educational context.
Module 10: Islamic religious education (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to point out the relevance of the theological anthropology for current challenges and are able to bring into discussion the Islamic image of humanity. They are able to link Qur'an and prophetic contents with their own environment. Furthermore they are capable of discussing differentiating over the duties and aims of the Islamic education. Graduates are able to reflect Islamic values in the context of the society, including gender studies.
Module 11: Foundations of Educational Science I (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the basis of knowledge in education and formation in the context of societal developments and understandings. They are able to articulate the distinctions among educational and formational scientific terms and situations, and are able to reflect on their own practice in light of these terms and situations.
Module 12: Foundations of Educational Science II (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe contents and purposes of developmental psychology and the current socialisation- and development theories in a competent way. Additionally, they can critically discuss the most important terms and paradigms of the development and socialisation theories. They are able to apply basic knowledge in the area of institutions and processes, where formation and education takes place, in a context sensitive way.

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to critically discuss the conditions for the emergence of differences and relationships of dependence in the migration society. Moreover, they are qualified for working on questions with migration pedagogical perspective.
Module 14: Muslims and society II (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the functionalities of the political system in Austria. They can think critically about media and journalism in a pluralistic society. They are able to analyse the meaning of the Alawit-Theology for the life of the Alawites pupils at public schools. Furthermore, graduates are competent in pastoral conversation.
Module 15: Compulsory schools I (10 ECTS-Credits, 7 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of the mandatory module 18 is required for admission to the module "Compulsory schools I".
Learning Outcome: Graduates know the framework of religious education at elementary, secondary and at new secondary schools. They are able to plan, guide and evaluate religious teaching on the basis of relevant teaching methodologies. Furthermore, they can apply the legal framework to the context of education.
Module 16: Compulsory school II - Muslims in Austria (10 ECTS-Credits, 7 h)

Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of the mandatory module 18 is required for admission to the module "Compulsory schools II - Muslims in Austria".
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to design the religious education for heterogeneous contexts at compulsory school level. They have a competent, didactical-methodical handling of different forms of working in religious education and, moreover, they are able to describe the legal and theological significance of the IGGiÖ for the Muslims in Austria.
Module 17: Islam at school (5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe the main fields of action of educational sciences. They can constructively handle religious differences and similarities at school.
Module 18: Principles of religious teaching methodology (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to describe and distinguish between concepts, criteria and rationales for the complex and gender-sensitive events of religious learning and teaching in the context of schools, adult education and communities. They can use the "Innsbruck model for religious teaching methodology" ("Innsbrucker Modell der Religionsdidaktik") as a basis for religious education in different settings.

Learning Outcome: Graduates develop on their own projects in the context of religious education, counselling and adult education. They describe theory and practice of educational work in communities.
