Module 1: Language and Linguistics (12.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Language skills and knowledge about Language, Linguistics and Cross-Language Comparison; development of competence for linguistic Media and Text Analysis taking into account Alterity and Gender issues as well as for preparation of texts and expert literature in a foreign language for teaching and learning purposes.
Module 2: Language and Literature (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Development of linguistic skills in the field of Text Processing; broadening and consolidation of methods and techniques for analysis and interpretation of literary texts as well as acquisition of in-depth knowledge about single genres, epochs, literary schools and groups. Intensification of independent text processing.
Module 5: Scientific Language - Language History - Translation as an Intercultural Communication (17.5 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Familiarity with the fundamentals of Russian as an academic language in terms of production and reception of texts as well as methods and results of historical Linguistics and Cultural Studies. Recognition of the linguistic and cultural-historical background of development of language and text types and training of the ability for critical analysis of texts and translations. Acquisition of skills in the field of artistic translation.
Module 6: Master Thesis Defense (2.5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of all other compulsory and elective modules as well as of the Master Thesis.
Learning Outcome: Presentation of the Master Thesis and explanation of its position in the overall context of the Master of Arts programme, with special focus on theoretical comprehension, methodological fundamentals, communication of findings of the Master Thesis and presentation skills.
Final oral defense of the Master Thesis in front of an examination board.
