Courses



Compulsory Modules with a total of 100 ECTS-Credits are to be taken. With a combination of the teaching subject Catholic Religion there are common Compulsory Courses (CM 10, 12) with a total of 10 ECTS-Credits. Those are to be compensated by Courses from the Islamic Religion or the School of Catholic Theology with a total of the same ECTS-Credits in equal parts.
Compulsory Modules (100 ECTS-Credits)
Es sind folgende Pflichtmodule im Umfang von insgesamt 100 ECTS-AP zu absolvieren. Bei einer Kombination mit dem Unterrichtsfach Katholische Religion ergeben sich gemeinsame Pflichtlehrveranstaltungen (PM 10, 12) im Ausmaß von 10 ECTS-AP. Diese sind durch Lehrveranstaltungen aus dem Angebot der Islamischen Religionspädagogik bzw. der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät in Höhe desselben ECTS-AP-Ausmaßes zu gleichen Teilen zu kompensieren.

Compulsory Module 2: Introduction to Qur´an Studies (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to correctly use Arabic basic concepts (vocabulary orally and in writing) with regard to the Qur¿an. They are able to classify terms and main topics of the Qur¿an.
Compulsory Module 3: Islamic Theology (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are capable of explaining the origins, the history and the methodology of the Islamic jurisprudence. Moreover, they are able to analyse and identify the methodology of the Islamic jurisprudence, "fiqh" science, taking into consideration different directions of Islam in history and the present. Further, graduates know the history of "fiqh" science, its ideas and starting points as well as its new shaping in the modern age. They are able to understand Islamic theology based on social conditions and to establish the relation to the pupils¿ living environment.
Compulsory Module 9: Islamic Religious Education (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to critically analyse and interpret current trends in religious education. Furthermore, they can critically analyse social science theories, methods, perspectives and assessments correlating those with Muslim daily life. Moreover, they know how to apply their understanding of qualitative empirical research in the theological-religious educational context.
Compulsory Module 11: Subject Didactics (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates know the frameworks of religious education at the relevant school types (also with regard to disability, cultural aspects, gender, social inequality, interreligiosity). They have subject-didactical competences in competence-oriented planning, guidance and evaluation of school-related teaching and learning processes.
Compulsory Module 12: Teaching Inter-Religious Studies (5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates have basic competences in dealing with topics from a didactic and subject-specific as well as interreligious perspective. They are able to understand and present the fundamentals of religious and subject-didactic concepts.
Compulsory Module 13: Subject Related Practical Course (5 ECTS-Credits, 1 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of Compulsory Module 10
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to plan and implement subject-specific teaching observations under supervision. They are able to operationalize and reflect the competences acquired in order to plan, implement and evaluate teaching and learning processes in practical teaching.
Compulsory Module 14: Bachelor's Thesis (5 ECTS-Credits, 1 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of Compulsory Module 1
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to deal with the topic of the Bachelor¿s Thesis in methodical and content-related terms and to present the result orally and in writing in a comprehensible manner.
